Week 9
Describe a time that visited a place for the first time. What do you remember? What were you drawn to? Felt uncertain about? If you could visit again, what would you do while there?
I remember when I visited Ethiopia when I was 13 years old and I was in awe of the place. I heard so many stories from my parents about Ethiopia and how they lived back then. The people were super friendly and I loved the food and the interactions at Ethiopia. I visited so many relatives that lived over there and had a lot of fun especially playing outside with the other kids in the jungle. I absolutely loved it there but something I was uncertain about is speaking in Amharic because my Amharic isn’t very good so I was worried they would judge me for it. If I was to go again, I would definitely travel out to see Lalibela I've been hearing about so much, which I actually might this summer.
